XBOX One S Controller connected with audio Jack

they are the same as the standard xbox one s controllers, so with pc you can use via bluetooth(audio through headphone jack not supported)

or wired(supports audio via headphone jack)

The only way to connect the headset to the Xbox One, is with the audio cable that is supplied with it. Connect the cable to the headset then the controller 3.5 mm jack socket. If your controller does not have the jack socket, then you will need the Microsoft
headset audio adapter, which you connect to the controller, then connect the headset to the adapter.

When it comes to headset troubleshooting there are a number of things to try to narrow down the issue to the headset or the controller. Does your headset connecting using an audio jack or through a headset adapter?

With the introduction of the 3.5 mm headphone jack on the Xbox controllers, you are able to virtually connect mostly any headset but some may not be compatible due to the

audio jack standards.

If the headset cuts out periodically then it may be due to the audio jack not being the right standard or the audio jack port in the controller is not functioning properly.

To troubleshoot your Xbox I recommend to
power cycle the unit.

Every controller since my first (1 with audio jack, one XBO S, one XBO X) hasn't worked, so it's not the controllers themselves.

There is also.the bumper.rocker as I found out when my controller took a dive into a lake of shrimp soup

And you forgot the audio jack

OG xbox one controllers required the 3.5 adapter with volume buttons on it

Newer ones directly connect 3.5mm audio jacks and no audio controls needed on the controller it would be your headset

@op you have to look at the manufacturing date

You cant buy og controllers anymore new anyways

You don't see any differences on the box with the exxeption of series controllers which have the share button they still work on xbox ones though

But like smwutches said you can't buy a xbox one s controller they aren't named that way you just have to read the box to confirm if it has Bluetooth or not for the newer ones or the share button on the series controllers
