Xbox One S Constantly Dropping Connection While Playing Online

Hello! This issue has been prevalent for a while, and is getting worse. My Xbox One S will disconnect from online play at random, but when streaming videos through Netflex/Hulu/HBO etc, it never drops connection. Only while playing online games.

Have confirmed internet speed is not the issue, internet is consistently clocking in at 26mb/s download, and 3mb/s upload speed. Whenever I get disconnected, I immediately test the connection, and it has never showed anything slow enough that I would have
issues like this.

I read this article on port forwarding, but it made the issue worse somehow. Typically I will get disconnected after 5-10 min of
play, but now I can't even play for more than a minute, if it doesn't just disconnect while the online matches are loading.

Any ideas? Getting really frustrated that I can't even play my games anymore. If it matters, I primarily play Star Wars Battlefront II, and Call of Duty Black Ops 4.

Have you tried a wired connection or changing NAT type?

Tried wired connection, but at-device speeds were less somehow, and the connection was continuing to drop as it was before.

I reset the Port Forwarding settings on my ISP side, and cleared the Alternate Mac Address settings on the Xbox. That seems to have solved the connection drop issue.

Thanks for the insight and resources. First article you linked is the same one I posted in my initial question. Second article is a good walkthrough, haven't seen anything that detailed yet.

I indeed have an Open NAT type, so I believe the issues may be stemming from my ISP, rather than a port forwarding issue.

Like I mentioned in my question, I've already gone through the Port Forwarding process, and it made things worse. I reset my settings (on ISP and Xbox side), and still had the issue. Ended up resetting the Alternate MAC Addresses setting, and I haven't been
having the connection drop issue since doing that fix. I suspect it may be a routine bit of maintenance I have to perform.

Try to contact your local internet provider. This sounds more like an issue with your internet service as a whole. Online games take larger amounts of bandwidth compared to apps used for streaming so, they could be crashing as a result of not being able
to tank the weight.

Check with them over the phone or online to see if there are any outages in your area.
