XBox One S connected to Yamaha RX-A1080 turns on Zone 2 on and off.

In a previous post that is now locked, I'm having the same issue.

I have my Xbox One S connected HDMI through my Yamaha receiver RX-A1080. Everytime I turn on my Xbox, it turns on my receiver including Zone 2. When I turn off the console, it also turns off my receiver.

I have my remote with a switch that independently control either the "Main Zone" or "Zone 2".

When I first connected these devices together, Zone 2 remained off until I manually turned it on with the Yamaha controller. I've set My Universal Logitech controller accordingly and was working flawlessly. For the last month, i've noticed Zone 2 turning
on everytime I switch to my Xbox from another Input source.

At first I though it was my logitech device to which I've reset and still does the same when switching to xbox.

I tested the Xbox game controller and an xbox media remote and it does the "All On" and "All Off" thing everytime I turn on or turn of my xbox. All my other devices i.e.: Sony UHD player, Cable Set Top box are ok. They only turn on the Main channel on
my receiver. Only the Xbox one s does the "All on" and "All off" command.

Was there an update that's may be causing this issue?

Solved:

I've finally figured out why my AVR turns on and off when I turn on/of my xbox one console.

When I purchased a remote for the xbox one. Setting it up had me turn on in Audio Mode the "control my receiver volume and the on/of function" was checked. It was never before.

I unchecked the box and my receiver stays on when i turn off my x box one.

Sorry to hear it. It may have been an update or the system may just be confused. Try powercycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down to see if that helps.

If it does not then try going into the Settings and forget the connection then set it up again.

What I did was turn off reciver while tv and xbox one s was running, restart xbox one s while reciver was off, tv was on and hdmi chain went thru reciver, tok the check and all checks went green and everything worked, got HDR and 4k, then i just reset my
xbox one s, turned on my reciver, and all checked out fine and worked fine still. I have yamaha rx-a2050
