Xbox one S can see my wifi, but cannot connect to it.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Good thing you have already restarted your router but would it be okay if we perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware according to Xbox's steps? Here you go:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

Is there going to be an update to allow me to connect to my wifi that I like to keep hidden. I am able to connect to my wifi only when I broadcast my ssid. I have the Xbox series x BTW. It is the only device in my house that I cannot manually tell
it the ssid and password. My old Xbox one and one s allow me to connect manually. Currently this cannot be done on the Xbox series x as far as I can tell.

You do know that hidden SSIDs has no security means whatsover. It only sends a NULL bit for the cleartext name in every beacon. So, beacons will still be sent out and anyone with a simple spectrum analyzer will be able to see the BSSID of your AP.

Same for me. Started the same time R* said they were bringing GTA V to Xbox One. My 360's connection would degrade day by day, until I couldn't get the diagnostic to restart the connection anymore. But if I connect a WiFi bridge, it works fine. I even bought
a replacement WiFi card and it stills fails. It cannot find an IP address, nor can I connect with IP settings manually entered (same ones when it's going over the bridge).

The xbox series x/s is completely incapable of connecting to hidden wifi networks. There are various tricks/hacks people are using which may or may not work, but it is not supported natively.

I cannot connect to hidden wifi networks. It will not find my ssid when manually entered.

The same thing is happening to me now my XBOX ONE S is not connecting to my wifi why.
