    Xbox One S booting up with No Color


    My Xbox One S just started booting up grayscale or black-and-white / No Color. Has anyone experienced this before or know if it can be resolved?

    - Its not my Vizio TV. If I just bring up my TV menu everything is in color.

    - Since issue began, I was able to do one of the following, or a combination of the following & it would usually bring Color back but now it has been stuck on black & white for a few days now & nothing is bringing color back:

    -Xbox Display options: changed from 1080P to 720P or vice versa, & rebooted console

    -Turn off TV & turn back on

    -Unplug HDMI cable & switch ends/reconnect

    -Plug HDMI to a diff input on the TV (there are 4).

    -Hard booting may have resolved once but didn't seem to help unless also did one of the other steps.

    -I also tried a new high speed HDMI cable which didn't help.

    It can always be a problem at your TV or the HDMI output of your Xbox, but just make sure "Enable YCC 4:2:2" is disabled in display settings, since it can deactivate some 10-bit colors, and depending on your display, this could not be good.

    Thanks for your replies Skyrider Y & A. User.

    I will make sure "Enable YCC 4:2:2" stays disabled. I have messed around with that one - enabling & disabling it to see if it helped.

    There is another setting that I can enable or disable on that "Video Modes" screen which is "Allow 24Hz" which I have messed with as well.

    --Color was back for a couple of days straight, & today we had color for a couple of hours, but when the Xbox & my TV went asleep on their own when no one was using and were turned on 15 mins later gray-scale took over again :(

    Xbox One S will not boot up.

    Is the console plugged into a surge protector or directly into an outlet? Ensure that whatever it's plugged into is working by plugging something else into it.
