Xbox One S audio stopped working following automatic update

Hi everyone,

I'm at an absolute loss here and I'm hoping one of you incredible people may be able to help.

Following a the most recent update, I now no longer have working audio. It's stopped the moment the update downloaded.

I've had this a number of times but each time, through trial and error, eventually managed to sort it out.

I've tried all the various setting options and even tried another HDMI. I don't have another TV to try that but the TV we have is a Samsung and is only 8 or so months old.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be really grateful.

• Are you using a sound bar or any other kind of audio system?

• Do you have a pair of regular headphones you could try with your controller?

• Have you checked if your TV's audio works with a different device?

Additionally, have you already gone over these possible solutions?

• Do you get audio when you plug a headset into your controller? Haven't tried as I don't have a headset for my Xbox

• Is this happening with both game and party chat audio?

• Have you already tried using a different HDMI port on your TV? Yes

• Have you tried performing a factory reset on your console? Yes

My wife is going to be induced this evening so expecting our baby daughter and so I definitely need the key element of my man cave working again soon haha 🤣

my game dvr stopped recording audio on BF4 today, It was working fine until the update :s

Access settings and then into account, backup and transfer and then back up your profile to an external hard drive (preferably).

The best is to make a vacuum cache console system. Holds the power button for a few seconds and then waits 30 seconds and then restarts the console.

If the problem persists, it is due to a bug in a console system update and sometimes you have to wait for a next update for it to fix some defects.

Eventually you can check the boxes, restart the console, uncheck everything and then restart again... You never know

I’ve tried that reset and I did the reset to factory and kept games and apps. I’ve unchecked boxes, power cycle (where you hold button, unplug, wait 30 seconds and plug back in) a couple times and so far it worked for one game. Hopefully a future update
will fix it
