    Xbox one S audio issues, worn out or headset?


    I own a Xbox one S, and recently found an issue for audio. Whenever my Xbox is on for a while (about 3-4 hours), my headset start to static and (eventually) fully turn off audio.

    But, whenever I restart my Xbox, it FIXES all of the audio. I even tested my headset for several controllers aswell, and there’s no issues at all. So I’m guessing there’s something wrong with the Xbox? I’ve had it for years so I can’t tell if it’s getting worn out

    Headset Microphone stops working after some time of using on Xbox One

    If the headsets are fine, there's a possibility that the headphone jack on the controller itself may be have gotten damaged or worn out. I would try the headsets on a different controller.

    You may also want to double-check that you go to Audio settings under the profile and ensure that "headset mic" is turned to the "on" position.

    Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with audio settings for a headset.

    In order to receive the audio settings through the Xbox, you will need to plug in the headset to the controller. Once you connect the headset to the controller you will be able to change any audio settings such as the Party chat volume. Unfortunately, when
    you connect the headset to the tv you will only receive the audio from the TV.

    Hopefully the HDMI port on your Xbox 360 S isn't broken.

    What happens when you jiggle around the HDMI connection to the Xbox? Something tells me that the HDMI port could be worn from repeated connecting/disconnecting. If your TV signal flickers with every jiggle, then the port on the Xbox could indeed be worn
    out. I've had a similar issue before in the past.

    Your only alternatives for HD signal are to get A/V cords with either Component (red, blue, green) or VGA (with 3.5mm or RCA audio).

    Same problem. After update software on Controller. No sound device, then connect via BT. And controller recognize as old xbox(2006yo)
