So, I have tried both the guided setup as well as manually entering the brand and model of my Westinghouse Roku TV (model noted in the subject line), but no code seems to work with my TV to control the volume and/or the power. Is this just one of the Westinghouse models not supported by Xbox One S?

    Thanks in advance!

    :)

    Hello Jeffrey,

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

We are sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your Xbox One S and Westinghouse Roku TV. It's possible that your TV model is not supported by the Xbox One S. However, before we jump to that conclusion, let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can get it working.

First, make sure that your Xbox One S is connected to your TV using an HDMI cable. Then, try the following steps:

    1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
    2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options > TV & OneGuide.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your TV.

If this doesn't work, try resetting your TV to its factory settings and then repeating the above steps. If you're still having trouble, it's possible that your TV model is not supported by the Xbox One S. In that case, you may need to use a separate remote to control your TV's volume and power.

We hope this information helps and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you have any other questions or issues, please let me know. We are always happy to assist you.

Have a great day and happy gaming!

    Sincerely,

I have my roku connected to my xbox one s but cant seem to figure out how to snap them together

Hello Liam T, My name is David. I am an independent advisor, happy to help you today.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to directly connect or connect a Roku device to an Xbox One S console. The Xbox One S does not have a built-in feature or app that allows you to integrate or connect a Roku device within the console interface.

However, there are alternative ways to use your Roku device together with your Xbox One S:

HDMI Switching: Connect your Roku device directly to your TV using an HDMI cable. Next, connect your Xbox One S to another HDMI input on your TV. Most modern TVs have multiple HDMI inputs, allowing you to switch between devices using the TV's input selection menu or a remote control.

    I hope this works.

    Best regards.

Netflix: No UHD on XBOX One S

My connection is 300Mbit down/20Mbit up. I can use the Roku 4's Netflix app fine and get content in 4k, but the XBOX One S is in a different room and used on a different TV. I usually keep my Roku in the bedroom on my old 1080p Samsung.

    Hisense 4K issues

    I would check a few things -

    • Make sure there are no available firmware updates for your HiSense TV on their website
    • Make sure your input is set to HDMI 2.0 under input settings on the Roku TV interface Roku HMDI 2.0 Instructions
    • Make sure you're using a compliant HDMI 2.0 cable (The one that came with the One S should work fine)

Xbox One S not recognizing full 4K capabilities through 4K AV receiver

I have a Hisense 65" K680 TV, which is a 2014 model. It doesn't support 60Hz or HDR but does support 4k at 50Hz, 30Hz, and 24Hz, which I have checked along with 4k in the Advanced Settings. Whether directly connected to the TV or through the receiver, it
doesn't pass setting it to UHD for the resolution but it doesn't appear that the XBOX One S even sends out a 4k signal to the TV. Between a Roku 4 and Zidoo X6 Pro Android box, both of them display 4k just fine directly connected and through the receiver.

The Hisense TV doesn't have a way to set the resolution of the input because the TV detects the signal being sent out by the source and adjusts to what it needs to display. When I change the resolution on the Roku 4 from 1080p to 4k, the TV flickers and
then changes the resolution to 4k and the same applies with the Android box. However, the XBOX One S doesn't seem to do this. I have tried a 4k video file on all 3 but the XBOX One S is the only thing that won't play it. I don't have a UHD Blu-Ray to try
and don't have another 4k TV to try it on. Netflix, Prime Video, and Vudu show no 4k content through my One S but I can see and watch those through the Roku 4 without any issues.

I was curious about the receiver thing to see if maybe there was something else I could try to at least get the One S to play Netflix, Prime Video, and Vudu on the 4k TV so I could keep the Roku 4 in the bedroom on the 1080p TV in there.
