Xbox one S and Privacy Settings for Fortnite

I have my child account set up and have Fortnite on the Xbox. Problem is that apparently, some XBox privacy settings inhibit him from accessing the game. Without having to go through each and every privacy and online security setting and test it, does
anyone know which ones prevent him from playing the game.

XBox support was unable to answer and finally had me set my child's privacy and online security to the adult defaults. This did allow him to access Fortnite, but obviously I do not want to keep the settings that way.

Also, my console never gave me the option to allow permissions for this game as Xbox said it would so I am at a loss on exactly which settings to use.

Any help is appreciated.

Profile does not have the correct permission to access xbox live functionality

We purchased Xbox Live Gold and it displays in "Subscriptions". When trying to play any game, currently trying Fortnite, on our Xbox One S we get the error message

"profile does not have the correct permission to access xbox live functionality"
All privacy access appears to be set at Allow or Everyone. Please help.

can't play fortnite on my account

You need to change your privacy settings in order to play Fortnite. It's under the settings for your actual Xbox account.

To be able to know what to do , we need the correct error message displayed on the screen when your child tries to play...

You can also go there > Epic Games | Customer Service then click on Fornite Tile and research the error, Epic is more able than us to tell
you what is wrong with their game.

I did contact Epic and their solution was to change the xbox content for this game only. The problem is that the Xbox does not give me the option to do this. So, again, I am stuck trying to figure out which privacy and online settings to use so that my
child can play Fortnite but not have adult defaults set.

The below article was suggested. The issue is that I do not get a prompt anywhere to grant permissions.

Hey there!

When you purchase the Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle it should come with a code for the Eon Cosmetics set and a code for the 2,000 V-bucks. You can find everything that the bundle includes through the Xbox website.

This depends on what you want your child to do and play on Xbox Live. If your wanting to customize what apps they use and games they use/play - as well as time limits. Please the family settings here: https://account.live.com then
navigate to family.

You will need to invite him to your family as a child. once you have done that, head over to his email and accept the invite. Then select his anme and begin restricting what you want. You can also follow the links on that page to
the Xbox Privacy section, so your able to choose who he can speak to and who he can't. As well as a load of other things to help keep him safe
