Xbox one S all digital powers off 8 seconds after being turned on

Hello,

I've had my Xbox One S all digital console for 17 days and today it went south. It worked fine up until today when the following happened:

-Tried to power up the Xbox through the controller (the usual way I've been doing it)

-Controller light started blinking, thought the batteries were done so replaced them. Xbox did not power up at this time

-Tried again to power up by the controller, this time nothing happened, only blinking controller light

-Tried to power up the console through the console power button

-It powered up, green Xbox One loading screen appeared for a few seconds, went to a screen with the CPU and a highlighted box that said to restart. A "something went wrong message" was also displayed. I went to push A button on the controller to select
restart and the unit powered off just before I could do that

-Turned the unit on again through the console power button. This time the green Xbox One loading screen appeared again, but little pixelated squares were randomly appearing and disappearing for a few seconds on the green loading screen.

-The unit then powered off again after about 15 seconds

-Tried powering up the unit again through the console power, and the unit powered off after about 8 seconds

-Then I unplugged the console, waited over 10 seconds then tried again to power it up, same thing happened,

-From then on I have repeated the unplugging and plugging back in but the same powering off after 8 seconds happens

The unit itself has been in a well ventilated, room temperature area. No dust, or pet hair, or anything has come in contact with it. No power interruptions have occurred and there has been no physical abuse to the unit at all.

Not sure what to do about this.

Hi,

The console was less than 2 weeks old in use when the problem arose. I returned it to the store and was shipped a replacement. So far I've had no issues with the new one. I suppose it was just a bad unit out of the box.

Factory reset, and a usb software reinstall.

Works every time.

Hey Scott,

If everything you say is true, then it sounds like the console would need to go through troubleshooting with tech support. I would try and contact Microsoft and see if there is anything they can do or any issues they are aware of that could be causing this
issue for you. There could have been a few other than have been expirencing this issue with their console as well, remember to update this post when you figure out your solution to help out a fellow gamer.
