    Xbox One S All Digital not for Gaming


    Hi Xbox Communication,

    I have been trying in vain to play games on my 4 week old Xbox One S All Digital. When i first got it, I wasnt too quick to play games, just used the Apps. Purchased COD Modern Warfare and got to play for a day, was a bit of a jittery experience but it worked.
    Following that, I started to get the "Taking too long to load game" error, then it started on System apps, even clicking Network settings results in a darkened screen for a bit then jumps back, 4 attempts later it lets me in. Also, when a game freezes, it
    will lock up the entire system. I have Factory Reset 4 times, on the 3rd attempt things went well, Download speeds increased tenfold, Latency still terrible on Fibre Max connection, wired or wireless. Went to play the fresh downloaded COD game, still had problems.
    Today after having system off for 4 days, it took 20 mins to boot up to home screen, let me open the game but got the "Took too long to load error", sync still attempted while it crashed. Tried 3 times, got to Infinity Ward video, and it freezes. Finally get
    to main screen to press A to Start then it freezes, and finally crashes. This console is certainly not fit for purpose, and need some serious help here. Willing to answer any questions of course and have a video. Thank you in advance. New Zealand, Vodafone
    Fibre Max, WiFi 5Ghz, also tried wired and using a repeater direct connected at the moment. Purchased at PBtech pre-lockdown. Also has its own power connection via extender to wall.

    Xbox One Series S - I'm confused

    You have names mixed up. There are no consoles named the Xbox One Series S or Xbox One Series X.

    The Xbox One/One S/One X all have a disc drive.

    The Xbox One S All Digital Edition does not have a disc drive.

    The Xbox Series X has a disc drive.

    The Xbox Series S does not have a disc drive.

    All the consoles can play backward compatible games. The Series S and One S all digital edition can only play games digitally downloaded.

    The other consoles can play games from disc and from digitally downloaded,

    I hope this clears things up for you.

    no. I believe you still need to get the digital version of the game if you're referring to Xbox series S or all digital Xbox one S

    Unfortunately, you will not be able to play the games which are on disc.

    As the Xbox One S All Digital is just that, All Digital. You will have to purchase Digital versions of the games.

    Hi there,

    You can only play digital games in the Xbox One S All-digital, which means, games you buy online from the Microsoft Store.

    If all the games that your son has are physical format (discs), then it is better to get a normal Xbox One S. You would have to buy the digital version of any game if you want to play it on the Xbox One S All-Digital, regardless if you have the disc or
    not.

    In case you choose to get an Xbox One S-All Digital, you can transfer all the digital games and apps from your son's console to an external drive, and then just plug it to the new console to play.

    They are all xbox one games

    Series consoles are xbox series s or x that's it

    Digital or disk thata all the options you get
