    Xbox one S Aftermarket Controller or Trashed Console?


    My Elite 2 controller went FUBAR the other night, but at the same time my XBOX one S, is acting wonky, lagging the once or twice I was able to get into my settings for a few rounds of troubleshooting that has not helped, but I may just lack the proper vernacular for the better advice I read on Amazon about the Aftermarket Hyper something DuchesS wired remote controller. It worked as expected for three days, then something happened and we didn't pick up on what but now I have tried my own troubleshooting for 48 hours straight and ready to just buy another Elite controller and hope that was the problem. However, I would hate to spend $150+ to be told I need a new Xbox which is way out of the budget. Worst of all, my wife, who I've been with for 5 years, is the only woman I've been in a relationship with out of maybe 30, who is not turned off or some other way wheb I turn it on at the end of the day and have fun for maybe an hour. So it's a new priveledge for me and if Anyone Knows Anything this could be, I would appreciate any and all pragmatic advice. Thanks

    Yeah the aftermarket controllers they make are trash but Madcatz TE Sticks and Headsets are really good.

    IS it an aftermarket controller? In the recent update MS made it so the system automatically shuts them down and won't let you connect. The only way to keep the controller on is to have the console off, which of course makes it useless. It's not all
    aftermarket controllers though.

    It's an Xbox One S and the cable is blowing? S has an internal power supply and uses a standard figure 8 generic cable. You mean original Xbox a one?

    If it's the S it will have to be sent in for repair, the one you would need to get a new power supply for on the aftermarket

    I almost never game with the default controller. I use aftermarket controllers. :)

    You can use a regular Xbox One controller on an Xbox One S console, and you can use an Xbox One S controller on a regular Xbox One console.

    All controllers connect to the Xbox console the same way, via proprietary RF.

    If you are confused because of the addition of Bluetooth in the Xbox One S, just know that Bluetooth is only built into the Xbox One S controller (there is actually no bluetooth functionality in the Xbox One S console itself). The Bluetooth in the controller
    is just a secondary method of wireless connectivity designed solely for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC via Bluetooth (without the need of a
    USB adapter). It connects to the Xbox One/One S the same way as the original controllers do.
