Xbox one Remote won’t work on tv sound etc.

Ive been and bought an xbox licensed remote for the xbox one as i watch alot of netflix etc on it. It works for play, pause etc but wont control the volume or on/off. Ive done all the set up manually and automatic.. i have a hisense tv, its found on tje
set up etc.

I have the same issue - lost sound on TV time to time and today when the sound was gone I tried to play remotely on phone and there was no problem with sound. Then disconnected from remote and sound was back to TV.

Try this ^^^ It works for me every time.

I have lg sound bar I just plugged it in and it worked sorry cant help you with remote issue I also have a lg tv so my tv remote works it

This may sound weird, but have you checked SOURCE on the TV remote and if you are using a AV Receiver check to make sure you are using the correct channel, (Game, DVD etc.)

I would try that, but I have the remote features disabled for purpose of power saving. I might give it a go, if I get desperate...which I'm almost to that point.
