    Xbox One recording/capturing not working on just one game


    I've been recording on a game (Smite) for months now but today it wont let me. I popped in another game just to test it out and I can capture there no problem. I see the capture setting appear for a split second before disappearing. When I go to start up the game I can capture briefly but after 5-10 seconds I can't anymore.



    The exact phrasing I get is "Capturing is disabled. Sorry, this game doesn't allow capturing."



    No patch notes mention this feature being removed. Power cycling hasn't fixed the issue. Any ideas or workarounds friends?

    Xbox Screenshots and Record Captures

    I just recently turned on my Xbox One today to check my system captures. And nothing but one screen capture I took a few days ago just showed up. No game record captures, as well. I think maybe all the screenshots and record captures got deleted by the
    new February 2020 update. I highly doubt they expired. The Xbox Live captures are still there, just not the internal ones. I need help!

    Will Xbox One work with capture cards?

    Yeah they will work, but the Xbox One will also be able to record game footage on its own, though not with all the capabilities/options of an actual capture card.

    Thank you for reaching out to us on the Forums. When you capture game clips on your Xbox One it starts to record automatically on screen. There would be no way to utilize a webcam to capture game clips.

    Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with uploading game clips to the OneDrive.

    I recommend to try this work around:

    1. Xbox Button > Broadcast & Capture
      • Recent captures - choose the Xbox clip you would like to upload
      • Try clicking -- Share > OneDrive
