Xbox One randomly shutting down after launching a game

    Xbox One randomly shutting down after launching a game


    This has been happening for a while now, and since it didn't happen often, I didn't ask about. But it happens just enough to where it's annoying.

    After I'm on it for about an hour or more, and I'm switching games, once I've selected and launch the game, the fan would suddenly go probably as fast as it can for a bit, then the whole Xbox shuts down and blames ventilation, even though my Xbox and Power Supply are in very open spaces and both of them are only just a bit warm. And then after this, it usually goes back to being normal, I can even open the game I just tried to launch without it happening again.

    Is there anyway to stop this from happening again? The "Turning off Unexpectedly" article didn't help at all.

    Hello Wazzat2005, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your console.

    I see that you mentioned your power supply is well ventilated as well. Does that mean you're using one of the original Xbox One consoles with the external power brick? If so then the issue may be due to age.

    However, please double check your vents and make sure that they are not filed with dust.

    I'm not sure I understand what the issue is...? When you say "not launching anymore", are you saying the Xbox no longer boots up? Or, when you say "after a while it shut down", are you saying it is randomly shutting down (powers off)? Or, is this a problem
    with the controller connecting and staying connected to the Xbox?

    Fixed!

    I disconnected my xbox from the internet then reconnected, after that I launched cloud gaming and shut it down then the error stopped.

    Could this possibly be a bug, or just a one time coincidence?

    Try a hard reset, hold the power button down for ten seconds or so. If that doesn't work call support.
