Xbox One problems for a PC gamer

Hello guys

I'm getting my first console ever in a few days and it will be Xbox One. I have been PC gamer all my life, so I have a few questions.

As I don't have a TV in my house, I have two problems, and that is connection xbone to video and audio sources. I will use my monitor, and it doesn't have HDMI port. So I have to use HDMI to DVI right? Would I have any problems? Or is it better to go with
HDMi to DisplayPort?

As for audio, I guess I have to use optical audio cable? I have a home theatre with 5.1 surround sound, and I guess it supports Dolby/DTS. Can I just connect my xbone to my home theatre via optical cable and use it as audio source?

And how do I change my nickname or whatever you call it? I have chosen this one back im the days when I was playing wordament, so I just picked something random that MS offered me.

Streaming on PC problem

Both my Xbox one and PC are connected to the same network thru wired connection. I used to stream Xbox One games to my PC without problems. All of a sudden, my streaming became unplayable.

-- Xbox one has no problems for network connection

-- PC has no problems for network connection

-- Start Xbox app on PC, the streaming is horrible. It says Network connection problems at the lower left corner. But it also shows that I have average 12- 17 mps streaming speed which should be very good.

-- Went back to test streaming quality, it lists all RED "X" and says wireless connection is not good for streaming. But I am using Ethernet connection on both Xbox and PC.

I tried to search the internet, it seems I am the only one having the issue. I tried my laptop and another "low spec" PC thru wire and wireless. The streaming works without any problem. It only happens to my main PC. I just don't know what to do. Can anyone
tell me what is my problem and can it be resolved?

BTW, I already tried reset and restart everything, Xbox one, PC, router, modem.... everything. Please help!

Controller analogue drift

thought it was just me but then saw this
Xbox One gamers reporting stick-drift problems with their controllers

my right analogue stick behaves like its being pushed up slightly all the time. luckily i have a second one but its totally unusable. Anyone else have this?

For the second part Xbox one does have a optical audio output that can be set to output DTS/Dolby signals.

For the final part it is possible to change your gamertag and the link below should answer your question however I believe there is a charge for changing your gamertag.

The biggest problem I see with your response... You are comparing PC gamers with Console gamers. PC gamers and Console gamers expect different things from their machines. You can't really lump them together just because they are "Gamers". Your comparison
would make more sense if Windows 8 had an "Xbox One" app that allowed me to play Xbox One games. Console gamers want the freedoms that a current console provides. If they wanted the restrictions of a PC, they would be PC gamers. The Xbox One is basically a
PC...but lacks the abilities of a PC (mods and such).

Hi Colin!

You might have used a different email to sign in to your Xbox app on PC.

Please double check that on your console.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Sign-in, security & PIN.
Under Show on Home, you'll see the email or phone number you use to sign in. If you enable this setting, this account info will be displayed on your Home screen.

Hum.....Microsoft makes money with one software : Windows.

If Xbox exclusives were consoles sellers there will be over 40 million Xbox one sold.

Bringing Xbox exclusives on PC won't make any differences.

It won't bring much more new PC gamers to play these "exclusives".

PC and console gamers,can saves some money by not buying Xbox console anymore.

And console gamers can still buy and play on consoles.

It's a draw.(at best)

Really don't see where or how Microsoft can win something

But at least,they didn't spent ressources to create new IP's for the PC communiy.Bringing Xbox exclusives on PC was the cheapest way.
