Xbox one power brick burning out on only one xbox.

My dad's xbox, no matter which powerbrick, randomly turns off, no matter what games he will play, one powerbrick is 1 year old and one dates back to 2013-2016, both of them don't work on his xbox one, but works on mine. he goes as far as to put the powerbrick that burns out in the freezer, but they keep turning off.

Things to note about when it does burn out:

it does NOT emit a burning smell.

my dad describes the touch as "pretty hot" (he has heat resistance so i question that.)

I’m sorry to hear your dad’s having some trouble with his Xbox.
Based on your post information, I’m afraid to say it’s likely a hardware issue with the console and not the power brick.

I highly encourage you and him to get the console diagnosed in a trusty electronic repair shop.
Please be aware, Xbox One consoles are not being repaired by Microsoft anymore. They decided to discontinue the device.

Power bricks for the Xbox One are no longer manufactured by Microsoft, so you probably have a 3rd party manufactured one. These are not supported by Microsoft and as such, can have problems. The only way to find out if it is the console or power brick,
is to try another power brick.

Maybe your power brick burned out or got broke somehow

I had the exact same problems as you with the turn on function and weird controller behavior after. Turned out it was a defective power brick for the Xbox One. I only found this out after the power brick overheated and shut my Xbox off in the middle of Madden.
If you touch your power brick and it is hot to the touch (it should only be slightly warm) then you have the same issue as I did and you should return it to the store for exchange. I did this and the turn on feature works perfectly on the new one.

Is sounds like the power brick of your Xbox One is defective because I've never heard any noise come out from my Xbox 360 power brick and Xbox One power brick.

Your console is still under the store warranty, just go back and swap it out for another one
