xbox one (original / phat) e100 bluray drive board pairing chip damaged

hmm. so lets forget about right to repair but shouldn't there be a software which does not check if a disc drive or wifi card is present? a completely functional unit needs to be thrown away because of a single hardware failure? it does not compromise security of the console in any way. of course i dont want to waste money for this but yes plastic is a thing. I do my bit for the environment like avoid plastic bags, segregate and dispose plastic waste seperately, etc. And then there are corporations like these; I wonder what they have to say about environmental impact.

you are not gonna like the answer, you cannot discuss self repair on this forum as it is against the rules.

basically microsoft is like apple and hates any kind of self repair even if said console is no longer repaired or sold by them.

right to repair should be a thing these days as it is good for the environment.

On the update screen this is the xbox one equivalent to a ring of death i would suggest sending it in for a warranty or taking it to CEX for a cheaper repair that will however void your warranty.

this error plagued my xbox one x and it has been a brick since its due to a hard drive burn out but as the Blue Ray and the Hard drive come paired microsoft are the best option.

1. Go to the Xbox One System Update Solution.
2. SelectI am getting an error message or an error code.
3. SelectI am getting an error code.
4. Scroll down the screen and selectE100 XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX.
5. Follow the instructions in Step 4 to successfully update your console.

Since the update froze at 52%, the step 4 was not made available to do the OSU1 or OSU2 update.

The only way the update completed upon restart was as I said above.

This tells me that the XBox OS is NOT hardware "Plug And Play" compatible.

Many other web sites say that the only way for a replacement ODD/DVD drive to work was to put the original drive controller board into the replacement unit.

How do i fix the disk drive with out the logic board as my xbox seem to have a none original disk drive i can't seem to find one with the board can i get one from Microsoft
