Xbox ONE (Original) Not Asking for Wi-Fi Password

it might be your network security settings causing the issue if you have a smart network with multiple access points rather than a typical broadband WiFi system with one router if you connect a device to your network and it doesn't recognize it will kick the device off the network

You could always hit the WPS button

The console doesn't ask for the password but at least connects to that connection and does it work?

Try resetting the console to factory defaults keeping games and apps.

Reset the console to factory defaults, you won't lose anything but you will need to log in with your account again. Email and password are required.

Follow this path and select reset keeping games and app.

In 5 to 10 minutes you will finish reconfiguring your console

To reset the console>

Settings> System> Console Info> Reset Console

***Do not reset your console without having your account email and password.***

If you are attempting to connect to wi-fi, you need the password for that wi-fi. If you are trying to connect to wi-fi that is not password protected, you need to have access to the modem itself, as you need to reset the modem or the xbox will not recognize
it.

Wi-Fi signal strength, your Xbox may not be receiving a strong enough Wi-Fi signal to connect to your network. Try moving your Xbox closer to your Wi-Fi router, or consider adding a Wi-Fi extender or repeater to boost your Wi-Fi signal.

Network ID and Password, make sure that you are entering the correct network ID (SSID) and password for your Wi-Fi network. Double-check to ensure that you are not mistyping any characters or accidentally using capital letters when they are not required.
