    XBOX ONE ORIGINAL E106 error on startup


    Looking for help. My XBOX ONE (original version) stopped being able to boot up this past week. I originally got an E105 error and after trying to reset, with and without keeping files, the error changed to E102. I tired to do an Offline System Update but
    could not get the option to become available on the troubleshoot screen. It stayed grayed out no matter what I tried. It's as though it doesn't recognize my USB thumb drive. So I thought the hard drive was fried (500 GB). I bought a new 2TB drive and installed
    it. I know I voided my warranty but the machine is 5 years old and well out of warranty. It hasn't gotten much play in all that time. Anyway, I now keep getting an E106 error and am still not able to get the grayed out Offline System Update option to become
    available. I changed my flash drive to a faster one thinking maybe the first one was too slow. No change. One odd thing is that every time I press the cink and eject buttons to boot up I keep getting a bunch of beeps beside the two or three boot up ones I'm
    supposed to get. And I never get the third boot up beep. Anybody?

    Error E106 occurs when you try to turn on your console

    You see one of the following error codes when you try to turn on your console:

    • E106
    • E106 xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx
    Note The “x” digits vary.

    Solution

    To resolve this problem, use the Xbox One startup error troubleshooter:

    1. Go to the
      Xbox One startup error troubleshooter      .
    2. Scroll down the screen and select E106.
    3. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.

    And how am I supposed to update my Xbox when it's in an infinite loop of errors E101 and E106 because the startup is damaged?
