Xbox One Original Black Screen after showing system update

My folks' original Xbox One was stuck at a black screen after their most recent update; the factory reset steps in the article got them up and running again.

Tweaked Donkey, I tried all methods, but the console showed "Your System is Updated" and the screen remained black. In one of tries it notificated me: "" entered, but the screen remained black

When I turn on the One I get the usual green screen but after that I get a long black screen and the the Xbox logo shows up right in the centre of the black screen. It's almost as if it tries but fails to grab the update. Also, unfortunately, I only have
the one Xbox One ha.

In the same boat as the above poster. Tried all methods as latest update black screened my Xbox one (original). What is going to be done or what to do in this event? Says I need to sign in from guide but screen stays black after Xbox start up screen. Only can pull up turn off restart options.
