    Xbox one on start up black screen


    I had restarted my Xbox one (by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds) and no when ever it boots up it says welcome at the bottom but the screen stays black. I eventually get a message saying something ernt wrong and gives me the error code 0x80070490. I looked it up and it told me to turn off then unplug the Xbox iv tried that every times and it won't work. I'm unsure how to reset it and I don't want to have to trash the consol

    Update: Screen went black, I think Xbox auto shut off. When I turned it back on It looks as though it was starting up normally but now it's stuck on the Xbox One start up screen.

    Hi! My name is Pam. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

    Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in. Press and hold the SYNC button and the EJECT button, and then press the Xbox button on the console. Continue holding the SYNC and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the SYNC and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

    Please select reset then keep games and apps. No worries, no games will be removed, just sign back in using the right account.

    XBOX One Black screen of death.

    I'm now experiencing what appears to be the same issue as Terrell Watson. My xbox had started behaving glitchy and slow for the past week or so. Then today at start up my Xbox One was stuck at the green loading screen for 10 plus minutes before the screen
    went black. My Xbox One then hung on a blank black screen forever sometimes displaying an icon for a few seconds before going completely black again.

    I tried all of those things with no success. It is still starting up, showing me the Xbox One start screen and then going to a black screen and just staying on that.
