    Hi,

    My Xbox One has been sitting idle for about 6 months When I tried starting it yesterday the white Xbox light didn't show up.

    - Tried removing all cords and connections reconnected only the power cable with the console and pressed the start button: unsuccessful

    - Switched off the power supply, Removed the adapter pin from the back of the console and switched on the supply after 1 min, stable orange light on the adapter.

    - The moment I plugged the pin back into the back of the console, the light faded off.

    I have read in different forums and found that this might be because of some sort of shorting in the console because of which the adapter auto cuts off. (Is there any other troubleshooting step I've missed)

    I wanted to know if Microsoft (or a Microsoft authorized vendor) still services these consoles where I can get this issue checked, I have scoured the internet but could not find any reliable information, moreover chat and call support is not available for
    this issue.

    My Console is out of warranty and I have not registered it when I had purchased it. I am located in New Delhi, India (if this info is required for providing a useful answer)

    Mic not being picked up with stereo adapter

    There are two different 3.5mm TRRS standards: OMTP and CTIA. They are identical, except ground and mic pins are switched. I BELIEVE the Xbox One adapter uses the OMTP standard, so headsets designed to the CTIA standard (Apple products of note) wont work.
    You can get an in-line adapter to switch these pins to make one compatible with the other. Google "omtp to ctia adapter"

    Hi, Does your Xbox have a built in wi-fi or are you using the adapter that plugs into the back of it? If it is one that plugs into the back of it check what color the light is. If it is plugged in properly and the light on it is red, it is a faulty adapter.
    I have had 2 go bad on me.

    If the adapter is built properly, it will work. There are reports of adapters not properly pinned that result in strange behavior - the 360 rebooting when the HDMI input on the display is switched to something else, or HDCP not working.



    If you go the adapter route, try playing a DVD on the console after hooking up the adapter. If it plays over HDMI, the adapter's ok.

    If you’re using the Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter (the black adapter with two aerials) then a solid red light means that the adapter is not recognised. Try plugging the adapter in to one of the USB ports on the front of the console. A flashing
    red light with this adapter means that there may be a hardware failure. You should contact
    Xbox Support.

    If you’re using the Xbox 360 Wireless G Networking Adapter (the grey adapter with one aerial) then a solid red light means that the adapter is ready for configuration. A flashing red light in this case also means there could be a hardware failure, again
    you should contact the Xbox Support team.

    Why do I have a mute icon stuck on my xbox and cant get any audio?

    Yeah I unplugged and cleaned out the power brick with some condensed air early on. All pinning in the adapter is solid, it still have power (lights up). I do not feel a new one will make a difference because I have that icon when I don't even have a controller
    plugged in. Do you have a mute icon when you dont have a controller plugged in?
