    Xbox One not recognising any DVDs at all


    My XBox One has suddenly stopped recognising any DVD I insert. Before I continue let me say that no, the discs are not scratched, no they are not from another region. I wanted to rewatch Fullmetal Alchemist but my XBox has suddenly decided to pretend I’m not even sticking DVDs inside. I’m not even getting any error messages. It’s just not reading them at all. I even tried my practically brand new, only been watched once, copy of Godzilla and it didn’t even recognise that. It had no problem recognising my semi beat up copy of Injustice 2 however.

    I’m trying very hard to stay calm right now, but your suggestion has not worked. I have tried everything, I have hard powered off the console by holding down the power button, I have tried fully unplugging the entire console and clearing as much of the vent holes as I could, I’ve tried your suggestion, they aren’t working.

    Do you have a Blu-Ray you can test?

    I believe the issue is with that lens and not your Blu-Ray lens. To confirm this, if you have a known working music CD, that may not be recognized neither.

    I am very sorry for the frustration.

    You dont have any issues playing games though, correct?

    Are your movies regular DVDs or are they Blu-Ray?
