    Xbox One Not Picking Up Third Party Headset Mic Sounds


    I apologize if this has been answered before, but I did not see anything on the forums about it. I have a CM Story Sirus Headset with a 3.5mm audio plug that I wish to use for my Xbox One audio/chat. I purchased the Xbox One headset adapter today and plugged
    my third party headset into it and got the controller update. Now, the audio is coming through my headset just perfectly. The only issue is that it is not picking up my mic at all. I know it is not an issue with the headset, because I use the mic on the headset
    to talk on skype almost every night. Hopefully someone else has a similar issue/fix for this because the game audio sounds great on the headset but my mic just simply isn't being picked up. Thanks!

    Broken Xbox mics (can still hear others through headset but can't reply)

    in the Party Audio settings you should see a setting for Mic Sensitivity.
    try turning that down so that the mic doesn't pick up the sound from the headset/tv.

    I am assuming that you have both game and party chat Coming through the headset and not TV speakers. Some mics even on a boom are extremely sensitive and will pick up even sound from the headset. If your mic is flexible, try to bend it further away from
    the ear pieces.

    If you are not in the preview and not running any preview updates, there is no need to post there.

    *This happened to me but in reverse. I had the basic chat headset and one day in Sept. the mic stopped recording sound. I could hear chat but no longer speak to others. I assumed it was the headset so I began using the Kinect only and found out that the
    Kinect, the headset and my third party headset that is compatible with the xbox one all would not work.

    During the October Preview I picked up the headset you have and after one of the preview updates they all began working again.

    I assumed it was update related.

    Sorry but perhaps another person will comment with a fix.
