Xbox one not completing signal (bad power source?)

Hey there .

Let's have you start out by resetting your display by powering off your Xbox One completely (hold power button for 8-10 seconds until it shuts off completely). Once your Xbox One is off, hold down the power and eject button until you hear a second beep.

I tried this and nothing happened.. Does it matter that my system isn't sending a video signal anymore? The white power button lights up, but the HDMI input source is now staying dark.

Hi AJ thanks for the reply I had already tried both ways you said to give a try but I gave it another try anyway and still no go, But a new HDMI had arrived that I had ordered so I thought it cant help giving it a go and still no luck, but I had also ordered a capture card as I seen somewhere that they can bypass certain problems like this so gave it a go and at last a picture, but now it wont let me change it from 480p, now I am not pc smart so this I think may be a setting in the capture card I am not sure, but it is a step forward and maybe this might give you a idea what the problem is and a way to fix it, Once again thank for the reply I appreciate it. thankyou

Even though your monitor was able to pick up a DVD player and a PC, this seems to be on your monitor's side of things. From what I see, your monitor is compatible with your console and you shouldn't need a capture card to get it to work.

Have you already tried changing your monitor's settings? If I'm not mistaken, your monitor has a JOG button on the bottom of its screen. You can use this button to navigate the settings menu.

What is your console's display override set to? you can see this at Settings > General > TV & display options.

If it's set to "Auto-detect":
- Change it to HDMI.
- Go back to the previous menu to choose a resolution and a refresh rate your new monitor would support.
- Try your console with your new monitor.

If it's set to "HDMI"
- Change it to Auto-detect
- Go back to the previous menu to choose a resolution your new monitor would support.
- Try your console with your new monitor.
