    Xbox One Network Adapter

I have been sitting here waiting for an 18 GB download to complete and after almost 6 hours it is finally done.

I have gigabit internet and my console is hardwired to the router, yet my network speed and statistics results are as follows:

    Download 85.01 Mbps

    Upload 6.71 Mbps

    Packet Loss 6%

    Latency 34ms

    MTU 1480

When running a test on my PC pinging a server over 330 miles from me I get

    Download 767.06 Mbps

    Upload 949.42 Mbps

    Latency 32 ms

When pinging a server less than 20 miles out it shows

    Download 949.71 Mbps

    Upload 948.61 Mbps

    Latency 1 ms

I don't understand why a console with a gigabit network adapter cannot do better than even 100 Mbps when connected to a gigabit fiber network. What am I doing wrong or what can I do differently to fix this?

    :)

a few things can impact it, if you are the only player downloading the game it will be pretty quick but when lots of people are downloading at the same time it will impact it, also some companies are limiting download speeds to make sure least impact is
made on servers to avoid them going offline or running into trouble.

i would also recommend that you try clearing your alternate mac address and see if it helps.

I took your advice and, after console restart, I believe you may be onto something here. Below are 2 tests ran after I cleared MAC

    Down 384.51 Mbps

    Up 14.67 Mbps

    0%

    35ms

    Down 538.63

    Up 9.35

Compatible USB wifi adapter for Xbox 360

No I mean something like the microsoft one but cheaper. In other words, is the microsoft network adapter the only adapter supported with xbox 360

connecting xbox 360 to wired network

It sounds like the network cable may not be fully plugged in. Normally when you have it plugged in it will automatically disable the wireless adapter if one is connected. It seems that it may be thinking you are connecting a wireless adapter such as the
Original Xbox Wireless Adapter MN-740 that connected to the console via an ethernet network cable.
