Xbox one: Minecraft won't let me join any servers, not even my friends.

MC tells me "It's because how your Microsoft account is set up". (My account is not a child's account. No one runs it but me.)

I searched up how to fix it via this site and someone mentioned to change some settings to "Allow". Though when I went to check my settings everything is set to Allow especially the option that allows you to play with others. Refreshing the page, closing out the game, and changing the settings option numerous times doesnt fix anything.

Make sure that multiplayer settings is Turn on

You can enable or disable multiplayer for Minecraft from the Xbox Family Settings app on your mobile device. To do so:

In the Xbox Family Settings app, go to Settings, and then under Enable Minecraft select Allow this game. Turn on Multiplayer to let a member play online with others, even if their account settings block them from multiplayer features. Enable Clubs so that a member can create and join Minecraft Realms servers.

I’m on Xbox Minecraft and it won’t let me play multiplayer realms/join friends or any server ur says I have to change my Microsoft account setting but doesn’t work once I change the setting.

i run a minecraft server and for my kids to access it via xbox one they require the ip, thats it, even their friends join, basically only people i trust. but yes you can use an ip only. on minecraft for xbox, phone, switch, playstation and pc.

i use the bedrock server software.

Have you not been able connect with each other ever since? Please make sure to review your account privacy settings on https://account.xbox.com/Settings and allow some restricted options there. Please also tell your friend to do the same.
