    Xbox one making a high pitch sound.


    my xbox one started making a high pitch sound every few seconds even when I'm on my dashboard doing nothing does anybody know what the issue is?

    xbox one making high pitch noise

    Starting within the past week or so, whenever we have our Xbox One on a loud high pitched noise will occur. It will happen for a minute or two and then stop for a little while. I have tried moving it off of the stand we have it on but that does not fix the
    issue. Any help that can be giving would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey there funnm4n90.

    Is the sound coming from the console itself or the speakers? If it's the console itself, try powering off completely and unplugging from everything. Wait for 1 minute and try reconnecting to see if there's any change.

    Mine does the same thing. It seems random. I'll be in a game playing along just fine, and then there's this SUPER HIGH very load single, constant tone. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE you can mute the tv and it doesn't go away, but if you turn the TV OFF, it does....
    I have my xbox1 hooked into a power supply/surge box. I've had a buddy of mine stop by multiple times, hook his xbox up, and as soon as he plugs into the power/surge box, mine makes the tone. He unplugs his, gives it a min and plugs back in and mine doesn't
    do it again.... in the games that does it, I can reboot and it usually does NOT do it again... Yesterday I downloaded the new Van Helsing III and it's done it multiple times. In the forest area, right after the intro, I'd be running around and it does the
    tone. Not a single beep mind you, or the "chatter" as some people have described with their fans or HD's, but a high pitch constant tone. I was going to reboot, but wanted to save my progress, so I teleported back to the hideout, and the tone stopped. It's
    done it randomly in about every game I can think of. Anywhere from Indi games to AAA games. Usually a good restart fixes it, but not this time. I'm sure where the sound is originating, since I can mute the tv and it still makes it. I would assume that would
    mean it's from the xbox it's self, but if I turn the TV off, it'll stop till I turn it back on.... whole thing is freaking weird. Seems like it's done it since a few updates back.

    Need some answers about this Disc Drive sound problem, i have gon through 3 XBOX ONEs and all 3 did it.

    Is it the high pitched continuous wheening sound you mean?

    Could not make much out other than that and the occasional read sound of the disc.

    The beep is not high pitched. It is the sound that the system makes when you pass your finger over the power button

    I have the exact same problem. Did you manage to resolve this?
    I ended up replacing it with an Xbox One X. So I never did get to the bottom of the chirping sound.
