    XBox One live tv won't connect


    I am trying to connect my son's tv through his xbox one but every time I click on the settings>TV & OneGuide it gets stuck on setting up tv. The circle just spins and never goes anything further than that. I talked to someone
    from microsoft for over an hour and a half and the problem is still not fixed. Very fustrated. My sons tv only has 2 hdmi outputs both being used by his one and 360. Can anyone help?

    We have a lg tv and an **** IPC1100 cable box from Verizon. The problem happened after we changed cable boxes.

    Hi, just to get a clearer view of your problem, your son has a tv with 2 hdmi inputs and you connect the cable box into hdmi in of Xbox one, cause one and 360 are using the 2 tv ports. And the tv app with the cable box works fine - the only problem is OneGuide
    and control of tv trough Kinect doesn't work?

    Worldwide means outside the US, too - my friend ;-)

    I.e. I really do need to connect a seperate STB to the Xbox one in order to enjoy live tv even if (or although) I am using a smart tv? Does this make any sense? The idea of a smart tv is to live w/o any extra STB's...

    Is there a possibility to directly feed in the tv signal to the Xbox one?

    What about K4meltreiber's input of using the bi-directional LAN cables inside an HDMI cable to control the built in STB?

    In comparison with the PS4 the feature "live tv" of the Xbox one was a strrong argument of the "all in one entertainment system"... I am looking forward to hear about any technical solution. As I own a premium smart tv I won't by a extra STB - sorry!

    Does other stuff work on that HDMI port on your TV? Also, be sure you got the cable in the HDMI out port on the Xbox as there is a port for input that wouldn't work for connecting to the TV
