Xbox one live not working for child account

cross platform play is disabled for child accounts on Xbox live

I have the same issue. I have 2 child accounts; one works; one doesn't! It doesn't look like an age related issue. Its also not disabled for child accounts. Issue is with Epic, but they will not accept that and just fob everyone off back to xbox.

Check too see if your account is a child account or adult account.

Start a game up that is backwards compatible without signing into xbox live, then sign in.

Please let me know if either of those work.

Unfortunately, I don’t have xbox live on the child account. Because of this, I won’t be able to test if multiplayer works on the xbox one.

Ok, simply put

Child One has Xbox Live Gold and games.

Child two has their own console.

Child one sets child twos console to their home xbox. Thus allowing the sharing of child ones Live Gold and games.

Child one signs out and ensures auto login is switched off on child twos console.

Child one can login on any other console and have access to their games and Live Gold etc.

Edit: You can only have one Xbox console set as your Home Xbox console. As soon as you set another Xbox console as Home Xbox, it cancels the other out. So all having the 3rd console set as Home Xbox will wipe the other Home shares out.

Yes the Home Xbox is designed for use on one console and it will work as described with two consoles in the house. A third console would need its own Xbox Live account for the third person to be able to use Live Gold etc.

Unfortunately there is no way around digital transfers between accounts.

Microsoft Family is only for you asa an adult to be able to monitor your childrens accounts, as long as they are set up as the correct age and not attempting to bypass the restrictions that a child account has.

I am having exactly the same problem. I have 4 children, all of which started with offline accounts for a few years each. As each one has grown older, I have helped them to create free Xbox Live accounts and migrate their child/offline accounts into, keeping
their profile and Gamerscore. This has worked fine for my first 3 kids. My last child has recently decided he is ready for an Xbox Live account and there seems to be no way for him to move to Xbox Live at this point from his child account. Any assistance
on this from anyone would be truly welcome!
