Xbox One Live account, Change from Child to Adult

Nephew and me want to play Fortnite together Cross-Platform but I have diagnosed that the reason we can't is because his account was created as a Child's account.

This is fine, but for some reason Fortnite will not allow me and him to play together.

My other nephew and me can play because his account is not a child's account.

I want to change his account from a child account to a adult's account if that is what I have to do.

Otherwise, why is this restriction a thing? Is there any other way I can go about fixing this?

To be a little more specific the, "cross platform" option in Fortnite's menu does not show up on his game while on my other nephew's account it shows up. I have done all the necessary Fortnite cross platform connecting on the EPIC account. The only issue
is that the Microsoft Xbox Live account was created as a child's account so Epic Games recognizes that and says that he cannot play with PC cross platform so the EPIC account options like the friends list etc just are not there for only his account which is
the only one I made as a child's account. Making a new account isn't an option unless I want to rebuy all his games but that isn't obviously an option.

Unable to change child account to adult account

Hey , my name is Roy .

In my xbox one i got 2 accounts one is adult account and the other child account and they both in a family in the xbox one.

Today i tried to change the child account to adult account from the adult account, i clicked the adult account when the option was on custom it changed , but when i checked again if it changed to adult it was still on custom.

pls help

Parent account

Changing the age under your profile data cannot change your xbox account from child to adult. If you have registered an account under 18+ of age in xbox live service that is a child account

You can't change an xbox child account into adult. the account can be upgraded by the parental account only when the child account registers 18+ of age from the servers

Weird, they should remove this restriction or at least allow the adult associated with family be able to allow it.

You can't change a child account into an adult account once registered for xbox live. You can modify the DOB under your MS account's page yet that will not upgrade a child account into an adult account for the live service.

I can't remember 100% but I am sure whoever set up the child account can change it. Like if you made an adult account on the xbox before making the child account that adult account can change wether the child account is a child account or and adult one.
I will just test this out myself now and post how it went

Its not possible to change from an organizer (adult account) to a member (child account). Whether the account is an adult account or child account is dependent on the date of birth entered when the account was first created. The date of birth on the Xbox
account cannot be changed either.
