You know my earlier post with DSL I had really low latency but only 4 down. I recently upgraded to time warner cable get 16.3 down and 1.3 up but my now my latency is 120

Meh, lets face it. Most servers are on the west coast. Not just MS servers. A majority of MMOs have their servers on the west coast... Anyone know why is this so? (without taking into account Silicon Valley).

 

I'm in Florida and have 25 down 2up BUT latency is 112 ??? wtf I thought they had FL servers?

 

I'm in Oklahoma and i have 50 down 3.5 up and 70 latency. I have tested it about five times and latency ranging from 70 to 75. The more i test it the worst it gets lol

 

I guess for now 70+ seems normal until they get more servers. I m only 39 miles fron New York I m surprised they don't have servers there. Probably cost related? Until then I don't think everyone will get fair games. My cod is almost unplayable now as I
die too fast and in the replays I see myself not even aiming before I die. I just gave up.

 

I understand that the MS Xbox Live servers (for Xbox One at least) for network statistics are in the USA, but what about the servers used for standard connection and when playing games?

I have no way of knowing what latency i have during gaming - there is nothing on the Xbox One to tell me!

If my ping in any particular game IS really high that would explain some of the strange laggy gaming i've been having (some I can maybe put down to my poor skills...).

How do we tell?

I cant compare general internet connection tests from the Xbox ONe with my PC or Laptop as you cant use the same speed test websites as they all require Java or Flash which the Xbox One Internet Explorer doesn't allow.

Is this something they are hiding from us?..
