    I currently have an Xbox 360 that I rarely use as well as an iMac that serves as a media server since it's powerful enough to play files from my NAS. I also use it for Netflix and the like as well. I've been recently seeing articles about Kodi coming full
    circle and coming back to Xbox now on the Xbox One. I was wondering if anyone else has a similar setup that brings it all under one roof with the Xbox One being the brains but then being able to pull files from your NAS and play them on the Xbox via Kodi or
    other means as well as utilizing the app Sling for TV channels. Is this a fairly intuitive experience vs a standard cable and computer kind of setup that I have now? Thanks for the advice!

    i am trying to download kodi 17.6. in the store they only have kodi 18. how can i get kodi 17.6 that will work on my xbox one?

    Has anyone tried using the HDHomerun app with a homerun box? Plex is another option that seems to have a better UI than Kodi imo. The issue with plex is I am not really wanting to have to set up a media server and fork out significantly more for a NAS right
    now. Kodi has that terrible UI and also needs a NAS set up. Super annoying. The Homerun plugged into the xbox seems like a slightly cheaper option.

    Microsoft should just release the OneGuide code to the public and let them fix it for us.

    I'm leaning towards plex or homerun to replace the OneGuide issue.

    I agree with many of the comments though, it's one thing to discontinue something but another to lie, bury and misinform, Microsoft's behaviour is right out of the Xi Jinping play book!

    i managed to make this set up work. I used component cables to connect the set top box to the sling box. i also used HDMI to connect set top to sling box, and another hdmi cable to connect to the xbox.

    I connected the xbox directly to the TV with an hdmi cable and a toslink cable from the xbox to the home receiver. It works fine, but i'm seeing a degradation in video and crushed blacks in live tv.

    all those videos are really misleading your more *Streaming* or on-the-fly transcoding to the 360, there is a Native Kodi app for the Xbox One. (if you dont have an Xbox One, your better off getting a RaspberryPi3 for Kodi anyway
    as its further developed than the UMP Port for the One, and at anytime Microsoft can go NOPE and remove it from store/System.
