    I've recently purchased the Xbox one s for my daughter to use with Kinect but I am unable to purchase the adapter as its out of stock everywhere! It seems the only way to get one is to pay way over the odds for a second hand one. Does anyone know why this
    is? Or when they will become available?

    Most likely it's because of Microsoft discontinuing the Kinect.

    Dear Microsoft,

    I also want to use the Kinect V2 on an XBOX ONE X.

    Unfortunately, even at 40 €, the kinect adapter is out of order.

    Impossible to get it.

    Second-hand sales sites offer them at very high prices from € 100 to over € 300.

    Microsoft, have you thought of those who want to join XBOX One to One X and who could not take advantage of the adapter cable given to One S buyers ?

    Not Available for free, unavailable for 40 € anywhere..,

    Is Microsoft promoting the sale of this adapter to the black market at shameful prices ?

    Kinect Support for XBox One X

    The Kinect will work on the Xbox One X. It just needs the adapter. Assuming it's the right adapter, then it should work fine with Kinect games and voice commands.

    The Kinect is definitely not built into the Xbox One S or X. That saleman was misinformed.

    It is possible to use all Xbox One consoles without connecting a Kinect Camera so no adapter would be required. However if you intend to use a Kinect camera with the Xbox One S then you will require an adapter please see details about the adapter below.
