    Xbox one keeps randomly turning on LG OLED TV


    I recently got an xbox one x off someone and for some reason ever since i got it my tv has been randomly truing on (I Have an LG OLED B4). however Ive noticed that every time its turned on its when the console is checking for updates as I have an external hard drive plugged in the status light would always be on when the tv would get turned on while the status light is off every other time. I suspect that its the HDMI CEC acting up but for some reason I cant disable it on the console settings.

    I understand that you are experiencing issues with your TV that kept turning on.

    I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

    Please power cycle your Xbox by turning off your device. Unplug all the cables connected to it and leave it for 2 minutes. Plug all cables back in and then turn on your Xbox.

    And then check power settings on Xbox. Make sure that the "Instant-On" power mode is not selected. This mode can cause the Xbox to perform background updates, which might trigger HDMI-CEC signals. Switch to "Energy-Saving" mode instead.

    Next is to disconnect external hard drive. If the external hard drive is causing the Xbox to wake up for updates, try disconnecting it when not in use to see if it resolves the issue.

    Then use a different HDMI port because some HDMI ports on TVs are more sensitive to HDMI-CEC signals. Kindly connect your Xbox to a different HDMI port on your LG OLED TV.\
