    XBOX One high pitch whine coming from rear of console


    Some help would be appreciated. I have an XBOX One and ever since I purchased it, I have occasionally heard a high pitched whine coming from the rear of the console. This happens when the XBOX is turned off but the power supply is plugged in. It didn't
    happen very often but recently it has become louder and more frequent. I am hoping there is a fix for this. Thank you.

    Xbox One blu ray playback quality

    The disc drive on my replacement console is slightly louder than my Day One console but still far quieter than my LG BD Player which makes a high pitched whine whenever a BD is played.

    XBOX One high pitch whine coming from rear of console

    Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

    Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

    This may not help since it happens when it is off. You should contact support and see about setting it up for a repair. Contact Us | Xbox Support

    Hey mate,

    I'd take it back to gamespot, they should switch it out for you especially if you paid for a 2 year warranty.

    The games will be wiped from the console, however are saved to your gamertag, so they will be reinstalled when you log on to your new console. You won't lose anything, you'll just need to redownload it all. Just make sure you've signed into Live, so that
    everything has synced to your online profile before you take it in.

    Mine does it as well. Strangely though it's less frequent than it used to be, but it's the fan. Likely the bearing. It's a widespread problem that I think MS should publicly address. It's not affecting my system either but it is annoying. I'd do a warranty
    replacement but I don't want a dinged up refurb that will probably have the same issue.
