    Xbox One Headset Mic not working


    It's been a couple of years since I used to use my Xbox One headset (the one that came with the console) to chat in-game, but recently I decided to get back in to Overwatch, and wanted to chat online again.

    I no longer had the headset that came with the console, but I had a new controller with a 3.5mm jack and just got a Xbox compatible headset to use with that, but the mic wouldn't work. I could hear audio and chat, but couldn't be heard, the mic won't even
    register that I'm talking.

    I upgraded to an S, so tried on my new controller - same result. I bought one of the Xbox One headset adapters - same result. I followed all the troubleshooting tips, but can't figure it out! I know this is a common(ish) issue as I've seen a bunch of posts
    about it, but never one with a solution that works!

    Yes, my controllers are up to date.

    No, my mic is not on mute.

    Yes, I've made sure all the privacy settings are open.

    Yes, I've tried other headsets to no avail.

    Would love to know if anyone else has had this, and if they've found a fix! Super frustrating!

    Xbox One Headset Adapter Problems

    I have a turtle beach px21 headset and purchased the xbox one headset adapter. The stereo sound is coming through really well, but the mic isn't working with it. Is this a known issue or is my headset mic not compatible with the xbox one?

    Sorry bout that, but yes, you can use the headsets without the mic...I thought you were talking bout the mic...but yeah all headsets that have the optical output will work with the xbox one. It's just that the mics won't work and I posted a link showing
    how to fix the mic...

    Stereo Headset Microphone Issue

    Update: A new headset I had ordered last week arrived, same issue, though it has separate mic/audio cables I have yet to get an adapter for, Audio cable worked, mic cable just made static while being plugged in/unplugged/twisted. Works flawlessly on my computer,
    audio works on xbox, but mic won't work. I do not have access to a newer controller, and neither of my headsets are official Xbox One stereo headsets.

    Thanks so much! As for the mic issue, one was my razer wireless headset which works great except for the mic, and because of that I bought brand new xbox wired headset and still no mic. Weird cause it says mic is on, but I can't hear my voice, no one else
    can, and my recordings don't have my voice either. Was going to buy a third headset but I wonder if it's the xbox itself. thanks anyhow
