Xbox One Headset, Can hear Others But Mic Won't talk back

replacing the hardware wont help it dude ive tryed it wasted my money its something to do with the software or a update or something fellas do not buy new headsets and controllers its not that can someone please help us i love my xbox ive been with you guys
sense the original xbox can we please get a response?

 

Hi Guys, please try this: Go to Settings -> Kinect-> disenable Kinect for Chat.

hmmm that would be kind of hard to do seeing as I purchased the XBox without the Kinect.

 

Pema ive tired that already man i like my kinect just not for game chat because once the action starts i cant hear anyone once the bullets start flying they get drowned out into the background

 

Plus my wife doesnt enjoy me yelling into the tv .... And im sure ppl dont like hearing my game echoing to their microphones or me saying whattt can u say that again... In the middle of a tough raid

 

I have the same problems as all of you I can't do anything with my mic, I can hear everyone but when I try to talk I can't hear myself and no one can hear me and I bought a new controller and headset today and it's still not working. It has to be the console

 

me and four friends have had the same problem as everyone else, they all bought new headsets which worked but i'm still adamant it can't be the headset if it's happening to a large number of people at the same time....

also i've noticed the 'xbox on' voice command has stopped working at the same time...has this happened to anyone else?

 

x Sanger, if your friend were having the same problem as us, new headset's wouldn't work, if you are having the same problem as us don't buy a new headset

 

I am experiencing the same problem as described by pH Tiger and have followed the same troubleshooting steps, this is extremely annoying Microsoft! get a fix, please. In addition to the consistent party chat issues, controller disconnects, social and gaming
services down over the year that xbox one has been out; my controllers are beginning to drift up, effectively making the box a $500 piece of plastic.

 

pH Tiger, isn't it odd that all four of theirs stopped working in the same few days that everyone else is experiencing problems? i've also seen another thread where someone has brought a few new headsets and most didn't work but one did. i'm just reluctant
to replace what i believe is not broken however, hopefully microsoft fix this so we can all get back to playing the xbox one properly again

 

Same problem for me. Default mic was working perfectly fine at the beginning of a raid on Destiny... About halfway through members of my party started complaining of horrible static sound emanating from my mic (although everything sounded normal to me.)
Tried unplugging mic and replugging, didn't fix it. Promptly after that I realized that my party members could not even hear me, but I could still hear them. Tried absolutely everything short of getting replacement mic... but as I see that may not even be
a solution. Guess I'm stuck using terrible Kinect mic.

 

My year will be over soon, may have to send it in

I am pretty sure the wiring inside the mic is very weak and not made to last long at all. I bought 3 mics and all of them will start to make a crackling noise for others to hear, then i will have to hold the wire a certain way for people to jear me, then
it breaks. This happens to me about every 6 months. I dont abuse the mic in any way. It just decides to call it quits after a while. It would be nice if i didnt have to pay $40 every year for replacement mics just to talk to my friends.

 

Yeah I definitely don't think it's an issue with the actual mic that comes with the system. I had issues constantly with the mic that came with the console and traded up for a pair of Turtle Beaches made specifically for the One. Still have issues with
those. Sometimes I can hear others, but they can't hear me-or when in game chat, I can hear some people but not others and they aren't muted or haven't muted me. It's a really annoying issue that I hope they address. I get really tired of having to do hard
resets daily and multiple times a day.
