Xbox one headset audio keeps cutting out entirely

My headset audio keeps cutting out entirely, and the only way I've found to fix it is to restart my controller, but even then, it usually cuts out again within a minute of restarting it. I've tried a different controller and a different headset, but it
still happens. And its not just game audio, home audio and party chat both stop too. It doesn't do this if i have the audio go through my TV speakers, but that defeats the purpose of headphones. Oddly enough, it does start working again every once in a while,
but it stops working again after a few days. Having to restart my controller ever 5 seconds makes actually playing impossible, and i just want some way to fix this.

Try performing a hard reset by pressing the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts off completely. Then unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.

Sadly, I've already tried this, but i did try it again just to be sure, and it still cuts out

We are also playing in the same room. If we try to keep the controller hooked up to the xbox one with the headset hooked up to the controller, when we start streaming the audio completely cuts out of the headset.. Not sure what is going on. I'll try again
today to verify that..

Without knowing the make/model and how your headset is connected I would suggest checking for any firmware updates (if it is, say, a wireless model) or changing the audio output for your headset - Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone:X headset settings on Xbox | Xbox Support
