Xbox One hdmi signal dropping

The HDMI signal between my Xbox One and TV keeps dropping out after a period of working. The signal comes through fine for several minutes and then drops, after it drops, unplugging and plugging in the cable does nothing. The only way I can get any display is by power cycling entirely, at which point the problem repeats. I have tried three working HDMI cables, one of which being brand new out of the box, and the problem persists with all three. Have tested this on two televisions, so it is definitely the Xbox itself that the issue is happening from. When the display is working, there is nothing wrong and the amount of time it takes for it to drop varies anywhere from less than a minute to half an hour. Sometimes the signal comes back on its own, only to drop out again just as quickly.

Is there anything that I've missed that may fix this without sending it for repairs?

Unfortunately, based on the information you've shared in this post, it sounds like your console's problem is likely hardware-related. If this is the case, I'm afraid having your console repaired would be the only option moving forward.

If you don't mind, I'd like to ask you a few questions:

- May I ask which Xbox One model you are using?

- Do you get "No signal", "Input not supported", or a similar on-screen message when this happens?

- Besides the TV, are there any external devices plugged into your console?

- Could you go to Settings > General > TV & display options > Video modes, and let me know which of the available settings are enabled?

If it outputs an HDMI signal, you can plug it in to the HDMI input on the Xbox One and it will work.

Is any one having a complete signal loss every 15 to 20 mins? It happens when using blu ray player , when watching cable, and Netflix . signal drops out comes back immediately but no sound.. If disconnect and reconnect hdmi everything is fine for another
15 to 20 mins ...then does it again

People have the misconception of HDMI pass through. All this means is that the HDMI signal from your cable box is "passed through" the Xbox one. If your Xbox isn't on, it won't be able to pass the signal through.

Due to the nature of the VGA protocol it may not be able to support resolutions above 1280x720 due to bandwidth issues. The signal strength starts to drop off past that.

I would suggest a HDMI > DVI adapter instead to fix your problem. HDMI to HDMI would be ideal, but some monitors don't have HDMI.
