XBOX One Guide wont give commands to Direct TV reciever

My DirectTV receiver (HR24500) is unresponsive to my XBOX One Guides commands. For Example, If I say "Xbox Watch AMC" the xbox will sent me to the tv app and show that it is trying to pull up AMC, however the channel never changes. I would like to have control
over my DVR such as pause, rewind, change the channel using my Xbox one guide. After several hours of talking to customer support they told me just to use my remote control! Can anyone give me better guidance than this.

Help with audio issue on Xbox one s.

Forgot to give setup. Xbox is connected to tv directly via hdmi, then tv out to receiver via hdmi arc. It has always worked like this before with old xbox one. I tried connecting direct to reciever then pic to tv via arc, but then it says it is not 4k. Even
though reciever is capable of 4k arc passthrough.

Having the same problems as Blue Box Warrior, my direct tv dont work and my xbox wont turn off my tv or my cable box. Even though my settings are set to. Cant even access my one guide.

 

Hey QicDraw McGraw, sorry to hear that. Let's try a few things.

1) What's the model # of your DirecTV receiver?

2) When you went through setup, were we able to detect it? (was it automatic, guided, or manually entered?)

3) Are you sure the Kinect has line of sight to send IR to the device?

4) Sometimes you can turn off IR control on DirecTV boxes and only use RF. Can you go into your settings and make sure this isn't the case?

 

I recently had this issue. #4 above fixed the issue for me.
