    Xbox one gifting, different region


    Recently, using the Xbox One new gifting system, I gifted a friend in a different region Halo: MCC. When she redeems it, it tells her to contact the seller to get a code that will work in her region. 343 will not offer me a new code. Her region is the Netherlands,
    how would I get a new code?

    Yes you can gift Microsoft currency and or games to a friend.

    Gift games and currency,     but beware of one thing. Make sure whoever you are gifting to is in the same region due to different region regulations, so content is region specific.

    Xbox One games do not have region restrictions. However, if he bought you a digital code as a gift using the new gifting feature then you won't be able to redeem that as gifting is currently only region specific.

    You would need to contact support to see about getting a refund. Gifting is region locked so the code would only work for your region. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or Contact Us | Xbox Support

    Gifting to different regions.

    There's no way to bypass region locking. You can try requesting a refund. If you still want to buy it for them, you would have to try finding a way to buy it for their region.

    Friend bought me a gift

    Never had a problem with gift cards between different regions before. It failed when it was anything else, but gift cards seemed to work fine.

    I simply purchase a gift card through Xbox, in my current currency of course, and provide the code to my friend in a different region.

    Works fine and avoids lying about your region (aka breaking the terms).

    If your friend bought the game as a gift through the Xbox Store he can request a refund.

    Seeing as the gifting of games etc is region locked you wont be able to play the game that was gifted if you are in a different region as the purchaser/gifter.
