Xbox one games

Hello I'm new to the Xbox one community. I just bought a Xbox one and I'm still getting used to it. I've seen where you still need the game disc to play even after downloading it to your hard drive. Is this true cause I bought Madden 16 from wally world
and downloaded it to my Xbox and I'm still able to play it without the disc? If so how is it still working without the disc. And again I'm new to Xbox I'm used to the PlayStation. Thanks in advance.

You are correct. Disc based games require the game disc to be in the console for license verification when you play the game. If yours is working differently then there is a glitch somewhere.

 

I think I figured it out. After I downloaded it I signed up for a EA access account which allows you to download and play EA games for either 30 a year or 5 a month. Because I tried playing a different game without the disc and it work. That has to be
what it is.

Yes. The Xbox One is region free when it comes to physical copies of games.
