Xbox One "follow" games?

Hello,

What exactly does it mean to "follow" a game on the Xbox One? Will it just make things go in your feed? Also, is there a place to see all the games you are following?

Just wondering what the function is all about. Thanks.

Limbo 2 ("follow-up") Announced!

I thought Limbo was an amazing game I can't wait for a Limbo 2...be cool if it had the ability to choose between black and white or color

 

Probably tells you when updates and DLC are out, would be my guess, seems like another useless internet feature!

 

Yea... you follow a game to have info appear in your feed. Such as Project Spark announcing the servers going down for a couple of days for maintenance. Or Fallout 4 announcing that the latest update is available.

You can check what you're following by viewing your profile and going to the "following & followers" tab. =)

 

Oh, thanks Argontheos! Seems like they revamped a lot of this stuff since I last looked.

 

It'd probably be useful and nice to have if you play several games at a time and don't really keep track of DLC or updates for them all.

 

They also announce other stuff, warframe streams which they announce, they also do give aways etc.

If you have a real interest in a game its worth following, its free so why not.

 

Give aways, huh? Maybe I'll start following more games. lol

 

I think they're just encouraging stalking. Followers in Friends List, now we can 'follow' games too. Xbox 360 has Beacons where you can add comments and choose which games (up to 3 on 360) you want the Dashboard to bring up notifications of when you're friends
play it and to your friends, when you start playing it they get a notification (unless they've disabled notifications or have their online Status on Busy. It will be kwl if they had online status like Away or Busy on Xbox 1. The Beacon feature is a good way
to get your friends attention. I don't really mind Xbox 1 having this Follow games feature though. I might start using it even with Minecraft Kinect Sports Rivals and other games I like on Xbox 1.

 

Not many developers are making use of the feature yet.
