    Xbox One faulty touch-sensitive power button!


    Hi,

    I've got an old Xbox One, one of the originals that has a touch sensitive power button. Over the years I've not been very active on it. Around 2014 I noticed when in really hot weather, it would register power button touches on its own, making it turn off
    or on randomly. In the winters it seemed to be a bit better, but since recently, often I can't get it to stay on, even though it is very cold weather. I touch power, hear the power tone, it boots up and then I hear the power button tone again without touching
    it and it just switches off.

    I wonder what's the solution? I want to sell it but if there is a fix that wouldn't cost too much it would be better to sell in working condition. Thanks for any help!

    ^^ Maybe it is touch sensitive like the S units power button.

    Is the synchronize button on a 360 slim touch sensitive like the Eject & Power buttons or dose it need a proper press?

    My console sometimes turns itself on. Why?

    Is it the original Xbox One? If it is, try to gently clean the touch sensitive power button.

    Power cycling or factory resetting won't help with this issue.

    How do I eject my game discs?

    The power button is touch-sensitive, it doesn't get pressed in but touching the surface of the faceplate in that general area should be enough to register and turn the console on. It's a button in the same way that the front buttons on many smartphones are
    just a touch-sensitive area (eg Android and Windows Phone).

    Is there any chance something might be bumping the power button? I know the power button is very touch sensitive. If that's not it is there a chance that a controller synced to that xbox is turning itself on?

    I think the pawnshop sold me a fake Xbox One, can you press the power button in or is it a digital one?

    is it the original black xbox one, if so that has a touch sensitive button, if its the white one then your press that one in same for the x also.
    I just want to point out that I have an original white Xbox One and it has a touch-sensitive button, not a physical button.
