    Xbox One Fan constantly on.


    My family has owned an Xbox One for 3 or 4 years. Until recently, we'd never even noticed the fan going. We've recently purchased a new fan, and this is where a problem arose.

    The fan would never stop spinning. I mean that quite literally. As soon as you turned on the Xbox, the fan would turn on at (what I assume must be) maximum capacity. It's incredibly loud. There's no doubt there's some kind of issue.

    Then, we purchased another fan. Surprisingly, this fan had the exact same issue. You turn on the Xbox, and the fan immediately goes to maximum capacity.

    I've read several other forums on similar issues. I have checked twice, and our Xbox is on Energy Saving rather than Instant On mode. I've also done several restarts (turning off, unplugging for 5 mins).

    The issue persisting between the second and third fans leads me to believe it's an issue with the Xbox itself. Maybe it's reporting its internal temperature wrong or something?

    (Our fan is in an open space, and our Xbox has never overheated. We don't even really play intensive games on it.)

    Is this an issue inherent to the Xbox, and can it be repaired?

    Hi, Power stays on on both USB ports.

    The external drive runs silently so hard to tell if it is on or off but the fan stays on constantly when Xbox is powered down.

    You know what sucks is there are a lot of playstation fans spouting this stuff out on face book comments for xbox one advertisements and people are believing them. Manager at my local gamestop said he's constantly even now correcting people about the xbox
    one. Yeah a lot of it is because of E3 but some of it is just playstations fans like the OP's friends.
