    Xbox-One failing


    We have an XBox-One, which we use only rarely, but now it won't seem to start.

    I have just changed my internal network so wanted to check its IP address, but it will power on, but then not much. The first time it said - upgrade software, but then nothing.

    On startup, the front panel light comes on, and after about a half-minute the green startup splash screen "XBox-One", which stays up about a minute,

    A pop-up shows - saying:
    "Sorry Gregory, log in using controller"
    "or hold down power button and say XBox open that"

    then goes blank.

    The DVD tray just beeps if I touch the open button.

    If I hold down the power button on the controller, the shutdown options screen comes up, and one can navigate around (console off, cancel, controller off, restart console, ...) and all seem to work. The Kinect sensor box lights up the logo and LEDs.

    Even the navigator feature works, speaks out the trial text, gives options, etc.

    I did the full power off/on, unplug/replug, etc. all to no avail.

    So all the display, voice, controller, HDMI, are working - but after the splash it just is blank - unless you invoke the shutdown screen.

    What to do?

    Why is Xbox Controller Quality so bad ?

    Personally, I have never had a controller to fail. That includes the original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox One S. Now that I have said that I will probably have one to fail.

    If the Xbox One is boycotted it will most likely fail. It must fail so that the Xbox's former glory can be restored.

    I don't think the X1 will fail though. If anything, it'll just be off to a slow start until more people hop on board and see that everything isn't as bad as it sounds.

    Dear OP,

    What on earth are you talking about? You can stream files to your xbox. Yes, granted it is cumbersome and backwards until such time Microsoft put in some dLNA browser to pull media, but you can still push media to it right now.

    Step one, install your TB drive on your PC

    Step two, install DLNA server software on your PC

    Step three, install some third party remote software on your smartphone (or) use MS ''Play On' in windows

    Step four, Profit??

    I wrote some poorly formatted instructions in the video sections on the forums on how to do this if you need it
