Xbox one external hardrive issue

my Seagate 1tb external hardrive randomly stopped working, my xbox still recognizes it as being there, but the name i gave the drive no longer exists, and all data stored on it has dissappeared. When i attempt to download anything on the drive, it says that
storage is full.

External Hardrive ISSUE

The hard drive has either gone corrupt or defective.

You will need to plug it into a Windows PC and reformat (as NTFS). This will erase the drive, so you'll have to install/download your games again.

If the hard drive is not being detected at all by your PC, it may have gone bad. One way to especially tell if a hard drive has gone defective is to put it up against your ear and listen for repetitive patterns of clicking noises.

External Hardrive ISSUE

I have a 1 TB hard rive where i store multiple games. However, its not working any more. In my xbox only appears internal memory even though my hard drive light its still on. I've tried everything on xbox support but hasn't worked so far. Help me please.

Have you tried a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

If that doesn't work you might try formatting the drive again.

Yes you can ive got an xbox one x with two 2tb external hardrives running constantly with no issues.

I as well have experienced some issues, bought 2 new original green xbox one external hardrives and both say that there is not enough power or are to slow- bought 2 of the xbox slim white external hardrives and they work fine. Please note that I tired
all trouble shooting options and tried them on 3 seperate Xboxes - 2 slims and a one x

Currently it would be hard to find an Xbox One with a hardrive with more than 500GB, that being said you should invest in either an external hardrive or a new hardrive with at least a 1TB.
