Xbox one external hard drive games audio crash

I've been experiencing some audio issues with the games I have installed on my external HD. While playing these games the audio will break up to unbearable levels and sometimes cut out completely. (through my headphones but remains on TV) If I transfer the
game I'm having issues with onto my internal HD than everything's fine and runs smoothly but I don't have a lot of space on my internal hence the external. It's something that's been bugging me for a while now and I really just want to know if anyone else
is suffering from this and how to fix preferably without formatting the external HD. I'm using a Seagate 4tb 3.0 USB. I've had it for a couple of years and it has worked fine in the past.

What nestor said is this happening during playing games and also are the games on an external hard drive if this happens on an external hard drive and only the games crash it could be a dieing external

Hey thanks for the post but my internet is not too terrible I dl at 60-80mbs and I've been on Xbox live for years but I'll try an Ethernet cable at some stage just to get the higher speeds

Firstly I want to thank everyone for their advice it's been much appreciated. Thank you.

As for the update since posting this question a couple of days ago things have gotten dramatically worse. First thing was that I was playing a game installed on my internal HD and the audio break ups started occurring so I decided to hard reset my Xbox and
disconnect the external HD as to test if it was the external causing problems generally. Start my Xbox back up start the same game everything works fine.(for a while) The next day I decide to install another game onto my internal as I only have three go back
to playing previous game during dl and the same audio issues occur at the exact same time. Pause the installation go back to game and audio issues have stopped. I can sit in pre match lobby all day and no audio bug the second I find a match and the Xbox has
to load the game up the audio breaks and inevitably cuts completely. It's as if the audio break up is directly related to how hard my Xbox is working. Is there anything I can do(factory reset? Have Xbox worked on? Could I have some sort of virus? Has my external
corrupted something vital?) or is this the start of my Xbox's death.

Please send help

Hello Vash,

Sorry didn't see you tried them on internal already. Being they work fine on the internal, you can try the manufacturer see if they have any help. Other than that the best solution in this case would be a reformat of the external HD.
